All done and dusted

My posts have been delayed the past couple of days as I had my last exam yesterday followed by the evening celebrations and I can report that my body is still slightly worse for wear as I write this! My university career is now done unless I get the urge in the future to return and do a post-grad degree but at the moment that is not likely in the forseeable future. After my last exam I decided to nip out for a couple hours of fishing before the celebrations kicked in in big style. The weather was lousy but since I’m not able to fish this weekend due to other commitments I thought...

Clutter

In keeping with the theme of organisation but swinging this time from the cyber world to the real world, don’t you find organising and storing your fly fishing gear to be a right pain in the arse sometimes? This picture shows only some of my gear and admittedly it isn’t stored away it’s just piled up on a floor for quick selection on the way out the door on the next trip, this way I never temporarily lose anything – it’s always there or lost forever, it’s never just filed away in some place unbeknown to any living sole!   There are some cool suggestions...

Do you just skim every so often? Do you follow comments? Do you subscribe to some of your favourites etc? I’ve got links to a number of great blogs that I enjoy reading the content of but it was becoming a nightmare trying to keep track of things and I no doubt missed out on great material. I’ve found a solution though! GOOGLE READER! Google Reader is a tool that lets you subscribe to as...

It’s getting closer to that moment that I’ve spoken lots about – the 17th of May. The day when I get as much free time as I want to go and fish and cast as much as I like. Unfortunately though between now and then I have a whole load of studying and an exam to complete and now even the weather has turned against me. The weather has been horrible today, very windy and the rain is skelping down now alright. Sods law will have it that the rivers will more than likely not be in best nick when my free time comes along. At least the blog posts will be better! I’m planning to...

Spaghetti

Spaghetti

So how do you manage your spaghetti? We all know fly lines are one of the most amazing contraptions on the planet for tying knots, they are better than any purpose made tool you can buy, they just do it, you don’t even need to ask them! The leader ties knots, the fly line sometimes ties knots, the runningline at your feet always ties knots and then there’s those times when you take a line off a reel but don’t spool it onto a spool or winder…. and well, you’ve guessed it by now – it sometimes ties a knot just to test your anger management. I’ve got so...
