You would think that in two weeks you could begin to crack a code, right? Well, that’s not the case! I’ve come to the conclusion that shore fly fishing in Exmouth is pretty hard and for a number of reasons too. The first and perhaps the most pertinent is the fact that you are walking on sand all day, it really takes it out of you. I’ve arrived, I’ve somewhat settled in, I’ve had a whirlwind experience of selected shore fishing and it’s been good. The preparation for moving to a tiny place started in Perth where I boarded a baby propeller plane bound for Learmonth Airport, Exmouth. Before heading down to Tassie I met up with my mate Gary in Melbourne. We went down to Southern Fly Fisher’s casting pool where Gary set out the hoops and showed me the basics of the Australian dry fly, wet fly and skish competition casting events.
