Those Pesky Flies

Since I have copious amounts of fly tying materials, around 700-800 hooks and a planned year long trip to new zealand starting in a couple months I thought I better get tying, even if it does take a fait bit of time with these pesky things! I’ve been pretty lazy recently, haven’t done much at all, just odd bits and bobs but last night I sat down with the intention of tying a few of one pattern in one size. Home Again

Arrived home on Sunday afternoon past – what a week! The snow in Saas-Fee was absolutely fantastic, perfect powder skiing for the first 3 days, then great piste skiing for the rest of the week. Brilliant cloudless skies the entire week – I really can’t complain! On the fishing front, I’m still waiting on getting out on a proper trip after that first trout of the season, looks like it could be this week however, weather forecast is looking quite favourable. Holiday Time

Well the start of the trout season so far has consisted of low temperatures, rain and snow and not a lot of fishing has been done. Thankfully I do love skiing so the snow is not all bad news, the conditions in the Scottish mountains have been the best in years and are still improving, this Easter is looking great for them. I’m heading off to Switzerland for a week leaving tonight – so more cold temperatures and a lot more snow. As they say, “someone’s got to do it!”
